Fishing For Freedom is modeled from similar events that are occurring across the nation. It is a no entry fee bass tournament that pairs professional anglers, avid tournament fishermen, and fishing guides with our returning HEROES in a buddy bass tournament format on a local fishery. The purpose of the event is to let …these American Heroes know how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice and assist in their continued rehabilitation and well being. Trophies will be awarded for the top teams and all participating warriors will receive tackle packets. A bill to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish an open burn pit registry to ensure that members of the Armed Forces who may have been exposed to toxic chemicals and fumes caused by open burn pits while deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq receive information regarding such exposure, and for other purposes.

Veteran Traveling Program in Support of PTSD Awareness

To all my Facebook friends. I am looking for a motor-home, or tour-bus to travel city to city. If you have any ideas or know someone that would like to support a Veteran Traveling Program that is going to be in support of PTSD awareness and much, much more. (ie, a traveling TV broadcast show on wheels) We will be filming your stories, and helping out any organization that supports our Veterans. I’ll be glad to share with you in a private message more about what is going to take place here before long.

Agent Orange Legacy is dedicated to improving the lives of the children of Vietnam veterans & families of veterans exposed to agent orange that have fallen victim to a legacy of birth defects, some known & many more not yet identified, chronic illness & pain, emotional & behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, & other conditions as a result of their parent(s) service in Vietnam and exposure to toxins such as Agent Orange.

VFW pauses to remember America’s ‘greatest generation’

December 05, 2011

December 7, 2011, marks the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the day that does in fact live “in infamy.” For on that fateful day in history, America suffered great loss: 3,500 dead or wounded, more than 350 aircraft destroyed and 18 ships sunk or severely damaged.  

Many dark days followed the unthinkable ambush that occurred on U.S. soil. But, throughout its history America has never accepted defeat or lasting despair, nor has it succumbed to intimidation. The attack instead served as impetus for a renewed sense of national pride and spirit, and produced America’s “greatest generation.” America was strengthened by the very values upon which this great country was founded. Freedom, tolerance and service carried our great country to victory in WWII. 

Though a great many of the survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor are no longer with us, we remember their contributions through service, devotion to duty and strive to emulate their selflessness and sense of patriotism daily. As we pause to remember the brave Americans who perished in the attack, as well as those who subsequently defended our nation, we remain inspired by their diligence, perseverance and sense of patriotic pride.
